About The Role

As a Visitor Engager you will be out and about in the grounds, on hand to provide opportunities forvisitors to learn about WWT’s work and help them to have a great day out.
 
In this role you will bring to life the work of our researchers at our Artic Adventure exhibit and explain ourconservation techniques in our walk through duckery at Mission Possible. You will inspire visitors withthe breadth of wetlands species in the Waterscapes Aviary. If you like public speaking then you couldcarry out spotlight talks about some of our collection species. Or if you’re interested in working withfamilies there are also opportunities to help us deliver nature based activities during the holiday periodsand event weekends. 
 
Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

About You

Who are we looking for?
 
This role will suit you if you:
  • Have good communication skills and an outgoing personality
  • Have a willingness to talk to visitors both on a one-to-one level and to larger groups
  • Are interested in education related activities and the natural environment
  • Have excellent customer service skills
  • Enjoy working with families and children
  • Have previous experience of delivering family events (although not essential) Are happy volunteering on your own initiative under the direction of the Visitor Engagement Coordinator or Learning and Engagement Manager.
