About The Role

Join our friendly team and help create unforgettable days out for our visitors while supporting vital wetland conservation work.

As a Trading Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the visitor experience, providing a warm welcome, serving customers in our shop and café, sharing information about the site and wildlife, and helping visitors discover ways to support WWT through memberships, adoptions and purchases. You'll also help maintain attractive displays, replenish stock, operate tills, handle cash, and ensure high standards of customer service, food safety and presentation across our trading areas.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. One moment you could be serving coffee, the next helping a family plan their visit, promoting a new retail range, or sharing an inspiring conservation story. You'll work as part of a supportive team, meet people from all walks of life, develop valuable customer service and retail skills, and play an active role in helping visitors connect with nature.

Most importantly, every sale, membership and positive visitor experience helps generate income that supports WWT's mission to restore wetlands and unlock their power. By inspiring visitors and encouraging their support, you'll help us create a world where healthy wetlands benefit wildlife, people and the planet.

This is an annualised hours contract based on an average of 8 hours per week. An annualised hours contract is where you work a total number of hours over the year rather than a set number of hours per week. You receive a steady salary paid in equal monthly amounts, even though the actual hours you work per week may fluctuate to meet seasonal or service demands
