Senior Project Manager - connecting Caerlaverock project

About The Role

Caerlaverock is a stunning nature reserve situated on the north Solway coast.

We are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to manage a landscape scale development project which aims to link WWT Caerlaverock to other wildlife-rich sites in the surrounding area. The role will manage the delivery of all aspects of the project in line with defined project objectives.

This is a chance to shape ongoing landscape scale work and bring together nature across a beautiful wildlife rich part of Scotland. It will involve surveying for, and drawing up species plans, working in partnership to create practical solutions to boost biodiversity and developing and enhancing connections with local communities and land managers.

All of this work is on and around WWT's special wetland site in Caerlaverock, Dumfries and Galloway, which is located on the edge of the mighty Solway Firth.

This is a fixed term role to 31st March 2027. The role is suitable for an internal secondment.

Rented accommodation may be available on site.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

Experience of managing successful large-scale, complex, multi-stakeholder projects involving landowners, land managers, volunteers and community members.
Experience of working in large scale habitat restoration, project design, planning and evaluation
Proven experience in networking, partnership building and relationship management
Ability to work effectively with others, engaging multi-functional and cross-directorate teams in project delivery
Excellent problem-solving skills and an eye for detail
A high level of original thought and creative approach and the ability to take on and shape new and unknown projects
Excellent written and oral communication skills to write reports and deliver presentations
Ability to represent an organisation effectively to partners/stakeholders and at external events

Due to the location of WWT Caerlaverock and the nature of the role, a current driving licence is essential.
